There was so much money spent on this but I can’t help but feel that a few crucial details weren’t resolved. 1) The far left corner wall off the tub has a sort of “glitch in the matrix / add ‘interest’ because we don’t know how to make this detail” feel. It reminds me of pleated khakis. Busy for the sake of busy. 2) That open soffit is killing me. What lurks up there? Dust bunnies making dust storms? Lighting? Gold? Coke stash? Hmm.
I’m with you on juxtaposition of the re-used collar tie and rafter but that should (imho) sit in clearer/starker contrast to the clean birch cabinet across from it. The built-in even has a shadow line, it’s setting itself apart, standing out. Those “old” and “new” parts are begging to communicate with each other but somebody in between won’t shut up. Also, that pricey drop-in tub is a result of a cost cut. It’s still cool, but it doesn’t belong.
